Online DUI Classes. Are They a Good Fit?

Dealing with a DUI is a stressful and challenging experience. While you made the decision to drive under the influence, it doesn’t make the process any easier. There are still many emotions and paperwork that can make it a miserable situation for you.

Also, losing your license can mean no reliable way to attend court-ordered classes. On top of that, the limitations of Covid-19 can mean getting into an in-person class could set you behind and put you in legal danger.

Thankfully, Cornerstone Healing Center offers online classes for Arizona residents and even out-of-state residents who received a DUI in Arizona.

1. YOUR LIFE MIGHT BE TOO BUSY FOR AN IN-PERSON CLASS

Finding time outside of work or school can be an enormous hassle if you’re a busy person with a full schedule. Our online classes provide help 24/7, so you can set your schedule and take the class on your own time.

We offer class sessions ranging from eight to 56 hours, depending on the results of your DUI screening. Once you’ve been screened, you can start your online classes at your own pace. This allows the flexibility you need to complete your DUI class and get back on track.

2. YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION

The first privilege you lose during a DUI is your license. This can limit your ability to get from place to place tremendously. It can also be a huge barrier to completing the class, even if it’s court-ordered. You won’t need to ask a friend or family member to drive you to your DUI class every session with an online class. All you need is a computer and internet access, and you’re ready to go.

3. YOU DON’T NEED TO WAIT FOR AN OPENING

Many places have Covid-19 limitations that affect capacity. Due to social distancing practices, some in-person classes may fill up quickly. This can cause problems with class and time availability. Thankfully, our online classes don’t require a capacity limit, so you won’t need to wait for an opening or a later date. DUI screenings only take 30 minutes, and you’ll be able to start your course before you know it.

4. ONLINE CLASSES ARE SAFER

Even if you’re vaccinated, Covid-19 can still be a health risk for some people. You could still get infected even if you are not in the high-risk category. Online classes allow you to fulfill your court-ordered DUI requirements safely. Taking your class at home allows you to be exposed to fewer people and fewer people to be exposed to you. You can take your class in the safety of your home without the fear of getting sick.

5. YOUR PRIVACY IS IN JEOPARDY

Unfortunately, there is shame and stigma associated with a DUI. While sometimes people don’t make the best decisions, it doesn’t mean they should feel ashamed. However, because of the stigma, it is natural to feel some shame and want your privacy to be respected while dealing with this difficulty.

If you’re concerned about what someone might think about you attending a DUI class, especially if you live in a small town, an online class might be right for you. While your character shouldn’t be judged during this experience, it’s easier to take the class privately without dealing with the anxiety of being judged by others who might not understand your experiences.

6. YOU DON’T NEED TO LEAVE HOME

While spending 2020 in quarantine might have changed your opinion on spending time at home, sometimes people don’t feel like leaving their house, especially for things like DUI classes. Taking this course online means one less errand you need to run on a busy day.

The benefit of an online course is that you can take it in your pajamas. You don’t have to worry about your appearance or how to act in public. You can take this class from the comfort of your home without even going outside.

7. NOT ALL STATES ACCEPT ONLINE DUI CLASSES

When considering an online DUI course, check with your state to ensure they accept online courses for court-ordered DUI classes. Some states — California, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, New Jersey, Texas, and Vermont — have certain restrictions on online DUI classes depending on the case. Check your state’s requirements for online DUI classes before committing to one of our courses.
